Devil's Club is a rangy shrub that has large maple-like leaves, and long, light brown thorns. This plant requires moist, shaded areas, and is usually found in the swampy sections of a coniferous forest. Even a casual brush against this plant causes its thorns to inflict an unpleasant abrasion. Devil's Club rarely grows taller than about 3 metres (10ft), and produces tiny white flowers during summer. There appear to be some medicinal/herbal remedies for menopause with this plant.
