Seattle 1999
Margreta went with her friend Alice Bettencourt to a friend's wedding in Seattle. Rather than spend all the time in Washington visiting parents and staying with family, Margreta got to play tourist in Seattle. On the first day, Alice and Margreta went to Pioneer Square. Alice was in a Seattle a few days ahead of Margreta so she got to do the Underground tour the day before, but Margreta took the tour on that day. In the afternoon, they went shopping at Nordstrom.
In the evening, Alice and Margreta went to the Space Needle.

The next day, Alice and Margreta went by bus to the wedding of Colleen Laing and Vladimir Potap'yev. It was very easy to navigate around Seattle by public transit. Below are some photos of the wedding.

After the wedding, Alice and Margreta went wandering around downtown Seattle again and then took the ferry to Bainbridge Island. The trip over was 35 minutes long. They enjoyed a seafood dinner on "island time" at a restaurant with a view of the harbor, The Madrona Waterfront Cafe.

The next day, Alice had an early flight back to Washington, DC and Margreta took the Amtrak train to Bellingham to spend a few days with her parents.
