The blocks came from the Mid-Appalachian Quilters Guild. I won a set of blocks that used a particular blue (the blue on the outer border) and any other blue and white fabrics. The blocks were a challenge as they didn't all measure 12" finished. I wanted to set the blocks in an unusual design and experiment with breaking the line on my ribbon pieces and the flying geese. Machine quilted by Janice Howell of Everson, Washington.

This quilt was on display at the Pennsylvania National Quilt Extravaganza in September 2002. Quilt juried into Quilts by Marylanders, a display of quilts in the Maryland State House, December 2002. Quilt displayed at Williamsburg Quilt Festival in February 2003. Quilt featured in 2004 AQS Engagement Calendar. Quilt displayed at Quilters Heritage Celebration in April 2004.
