Machine pieced, machine quilted, hand beaded.
Heavens Declare was begun as part of a workshop with Melanie Normann. Melanie guided participants through her curved piecing process, a variant of the processes used by Judy Dales or Mia Rozmyn. Margreta machine pieced all of the curves. The machine quilting is done in a variety of meander stitching. The piece is also hand beaded with gold and amber seed and bugle beads. The design is an original. The quilt was purchased by Erickson Retirement Communities for use as a banner for the ecumenical service of Greenspring Village. The quilt uses many of the same fabrics as the companion piece, "Sabbath". 23.5" x 42.5"
Quilt displayed at NJ Quilt Convention June 2003.
