Fall Flight
In the continuing series of kaleidoscope quilts, this fiber piece uses a specific tool that helps to create
a spin. I bought the ruler years ago and never used it. I think I was a little scared of it, but thought it would
be interesting to use. I think the final result again blends the works that I have done with the Asian influence.
I have worked on this piece off and on for many years. 43" by 34" wide. Piece displayed at my solo show at the Dadian Gallery in 2008.
Taste & See: Jacobean Dream
I have worked on this piece off and on for many years.
The pieced background came first. And, on its own it told me it wasn’t done. Then, I added the black border.
Still, it said it wasn’t done. Finally, with the addition of the Jacobean floral (and grapes) it said what
I wanted. I wanted to fill the “empty” space with quilting, but not just any design.
Another Jacobean floral design worked well to fill the space. 35” x 34” wide. This quilt was displayed at the
Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival in February 2008.
Essence of Fan
With my friends, we cut up a photo I took when I lived in Japan and
made our own fabric interpretation. Each member of the group was
free to use whatever technique they wanted in making their section. 54 inches by 36 inches. Displayed at the Greenbelt Courthouse, February - March 2008.
Notecards of this piece are available. Variety of techniques.
